Why, Google?

Why, when I search for this:

to find what the average temperature in my area was a year ago do I get these results on the first page?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

2010

This morning I told my wife this ...

.. but I think that I will find more than that. Thinking back over this past year and our first few years of marriage, one of the things I am most grateful for is the steadfastness of Anna. There's been lots of highs for us, and just a few lows, but we've gone through them all together and stuck by each other. Right now, we're living my vision of being able to work at home with each other, doing the things we both love to do. It's amazing how the paths have all led to this point, and seeing how things have all fallen into place so quickly.

Twenty-ten is going to be filled with new adventures I'm sure, but I'm looking forward to going through them all together with my best friend. :-)

I have so much to be thankful for

When I made a major life change over 2 years ago and left Pennsylvania, the place I had known all my life, to head south to North Carolina for a girl I was madly in love with, I had no idea what a whirlwind it would all be and how extremely God would bless me over the next few years.

It was a huge step, and I will admit it was all a bit uncertain at the time - but I felt strongly that this was the way God was leading me, and stepped out in faith. With the help of good friends, I packed up and headed south. I married the most beautiful girl ever and love of my life that year - and we've been loving every minute of our marriage since then. God took us in another huge step of faith together with starting our own business. Knowing we wouldn't have the assurance of a weekly paycheck gave us some reason to pause initially, but we were in it together and we just trusted that if this was the direction God wanted us to go, He would provide everything that we could ever need.

Seeing how this has been fulfilled, and God has consistently provided everything we've needed plus over and above has been an amazing story to watch unfold. Being able to work every day with the person I love the most has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life so far. I have no idea what is going to happen next year or where life will take us - but I am looking forward to going through it all together and having my best friend beside me the whole way.

So, what do I have to be thankful for? So much: my wife, good health that God has blessed us with, all of our needs provided for, family that's always there to support us, friends to encourage us along the way, wonderful business clients that make our work seem so much more like friendship and less like actual work .. the list goes on and on. Friends, when God promises that he will never leave his children hungry or abandoned, he means exactly that. We stand as living proof that God honors his children stepping out in faith and looking to him for all their needs.

As we go into this holiday season, I am looking back and realizing so many things that I am thankful for. The list is enormous, and if someone had told me this was how the story was going to go 3 years ago, I would hardly have believed it. But this is our story, and I am thankful for it.
